Pro's insight:
Albeit a Par 4, this is one of the toughest holes on The Old Course. For those not long enough to clear the water, a lay up is required of 180 yards. Those long enough to take on the water, this can be a risk and reward drive which will leave you with a very short iron to the green. Do not go long even for a short putt on this green. It has a sever slope and putting from below the pin is essential.
Captain's insight:
A carry of 230 yards over the lake will leave a short shot to a sloped green.
Most players lay up, leaving a long second shot a 4 on this hole is always a bonus.
