NORTHUMBERLAND JUNIOR GOLF LEAGUE CHAMPIONS 2026 
What a day. What a team. What an achievement.
For the third year in a row, Longhirst Club Juniors reached the finals of the Northumberland Junior Golf League.
But today was different.
Today, our juniors became 2026 Northumberland Junior Golf League Champions. 
It’s difficult to put into words just how proud we are, because this is about so much more than winning a trophy.
It’s the culmination of eight years of hard work, belief, patience and incredible commitment from people who have given countless hours to junior golf at Longhirst.
Paul, Phil, Jonas, Eileen and Graeme have been at the heart of that journey. What they have helped create isn’t simply a successful junior golf team — they have helped build an environment where youngsters of every age and every ability can belong, make friends, learn the game, grow in confidence and simply enjoy being part of Longhirst.
That is the real achievement.
The trophy won today is something we will treasure, but seeing our juniors wearing the Longhirst badge with pride, supporting one another and enjoying their golf means even more.
Three consecutive finals shows just how far this junior section has come. Becoming champions today makes all those years of hard work feel incredibly special.
To our fantastic team squad — you did yourselves, your families and your club proud today.
To every junior who has represented Longhirst, attended coaching, practised, competed or simply come along and fallen in love with the game — you are all part of this.
And to our parents and our brilliant JLOs, who give up so much of their own time to encourage, organise, transport and support our youngsters — thank you.
Success like this doesn’t happen because of one person, one team or one great day.
It happens because people care.
And there are an awful lot of people who care deeply about junior golf at Longhirst.
Eight years of building.
Three consecutive finals.
One very special group of youngsters.
