The annual Davidson Trophy competition has just taken place at Longhirst Hall Golf Club. The stableford format competition was held on the Lakes Course and was well attended this year. Unfortunately the weather proved unkind and it rained from start to finish – the sun showing its face when everyone was back in the club house. The course was in excellent condition thanks to Graham Chambers and his groundstaff and it gave the ladies plenty of run on the ball despite the rain. It was a very hard fought competition with some close scores. However in the end it was won by Diane Brown who managed to par the 18th to give her a one point lead and take the trophy. Thanks and well done to all the ladies who braved the weather to take part. Thanks must go to Colin Davidson who kindly supports this event and has done so since its inauguration. It is very much appreciated by the ladies section at the club. Thanks also to Graham and his team who put so much effort into keeping the course so well.
